The name Odette is a family name. Odette was my grandmother, a skilled tailor from Marseille, France. Her impeccable eye for style took her from the sewing room at Philadelphia’s John Wanamaker’s to the couture floor, dressing the city’s most influential women.

She often made matching outfits for my sister and me, and I can still hear the soft clink of her bracelets as she walked. I wear those same bracelets every day, a reminder of how she could transform any look with a perfectly chosen accessory, a rolled sleeve, or a popped collar. She has always been my fashion north star.
